Brig Inayat Ullah


Brig (Retd) Innayat Ullah Arain, SI(M)
 

Brig (Retd) Innayat Ullah Arain was born on 15th January 1955. He got his initial education from Sindh. From his early years Dr. Innayat Ullah was a brilliant student with keen interest to serve the nation in the field of medicine. After preliminary formal education he was selected for graduation in coveted medical institution of King Edward Medical College, Lahore. He qualified as Batchelor of Medicine, Batchelor of Surgery (MBBS) with the class of 1980 from King Edward Medical College.

Soon after graduation, Dr. Innayat decided to join Pakistan Army under the prevailing circumstances. As General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO) he served in remote areas of the country. He didn’t waste his time during this period, and continued his studies to improve his qualification to become a graded anesthetist. Later on, he qualified MCPS as well as FCPS examinations, to be accepted as ‘classified’ (consultant) anesthetist. He was much interested in pain management and learnt acupuncture from Brig M. Salim.

He was honored with Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his illustrious services during earthquake of 2005. Army Medical Corps benefitted from his services for 28 years from 1981 to 2008. After retirement from army, Dr. Innayat joined Avicenna Medical College, Lahore. Almighty bestowed him with 68 years of life and throughout his life, he remained committed to serving mankind till his sudden death on January 19, 2023.
